Trading cryptocurrency

The EXMO mobile app allows you to easily buy, sell or exchange cryptocurrency. You can quickly buy crypto with your bank card or use our advanced trading functionality.

Buying crypto with a bank card

You can buy cryptocurrency with your bank card through our payment provider. Simply tap on the “Buy Crypto” button to go to the payment page.

  • Specify the amount of fiat currency you want to spend or the amount of crypto you want to buy. The amount in the opposite field will be calculated automatically. Tap “Buy” to proceed with the payment.
  • Enter your bank card details and verify the card, if necessary. Final exchange rate calculations are made by averaging exchange rates of our platform at the time of purchase. The payment platform fee of 4.99% of the deposit amount is added to the fiat amount.

Placing an order on the Trade screen

If you want to take advantage of the advanced trading functionality, go to the “Trade” tab on the bottom menu bar. EXMO offers three order types for buying and selling crypto: limit, market and stop.

Market order

Market order allows you to buy cryptocurrency instantly at the current market price. The advantage of a market order is immediate execution, while the disadvantage includes the inability to accurately predict the execution price.

To place a market order:

  • Go to the “Trade” tab on the bottom menu bar. Select the “Order” tab and then the “Market” tab.
  • Enter the amount of crypto you want to buy or sell, and the system will automatically calculate the total amount in another asset.
market order

Limit order

Limit order allows you to buy or sell an asset at a predetermined price. This type of order is not executed immediately, only when the market price of an asset reaches the level stated by you in an order.

To place a limit order:

  • Go to the “Trade” tab on the bottom menu bar. Select the “Order” tab and then the “Limit” tab.
  • Enter the amount of crypto you want to buy or sell.
  • Specify the price at which you want an order to be executed. The system will automatically calculate the total amount in another asset.
limit order

Stop order

Stop order is a pending order that allows the exchange to place a buy or sell market order only after the market price hits the specified trigger price.

To place a stop order:

  • Go to the “Trade” tab on the bottom menu bar. Select the “Order” tab and then the “Stop” tab.
  • Enter the amount of crypto you want to buy or sell.
  • Specify the stop limit price that will trigger a buy or sell order. The system will automatically calculate the total amount in another asset.
stop order
When placing orders, please note:

  • The order is placed for the selected trading pair displayed in the upper left corner of the page. To change it, tap on it and select another pair from the list.
  • The price you see in the “Total” field is approximate and may differ slightly from the final price.
  • The amount specified in the order is deducted from your account balance. It is also locked and can not be used for another order.

Creating an order for a certain percentage of the total account balance

On EXMO, you can also create an order specifying a certain percentage of the available account balance. Simply select the percentage of the total balance you want to use for a particular order, and the system will automatically calculate the amount of an asset.

Deleting an order

To delete an order that has not yet been executed, go to the “Open” tab and tap on the basket icon next to the order you wish to delete. If you delete an open order, the trading fee is not charged.

Comparing markets

Comparing markets allows you to find the most profitable trading pair. You can quickly analyse prices for the selected cryptocurrency in all available pairs. To do this, tap on the scale icon in the upper right corner of the “Trade” tab.

Trading chart

The chart in the “Trade” tab allows you to analyse price movements of the selected trading pair over a specific period of time.

The vertical scale displays the price movement, while the horizontal one displays the timeframe. You can change the timeframe from 1 minute to 1 month in the upper left corner of the chart.

You can also enlarge the chart to full screen by tapping on the square icon in the upper right corner of the section or send it to other people by tapping on the share icon.

Price alerts

You can easily monitor price changes without opening the app. To do this, you simply need to set up price alerts:

  • Touch the bell icon and tap “Add”.
  • Select the required cryptocurrency and specify the price at which you want to be notified.
push alerts

You can find a complete list of previously set price alerts on the “Alerts” screen.

Order book and trade history

Order book and trade history are located at the bottom of the “Trade” page.

The order book displays how much and at what price traders are willing to buy or sell an asset.

Trade history is a list of already executed trades that displays the trade price, amount, as well as execution date and time.

To access the EXMO chat, tap on “Chat” in the upper right corner of the “Trade” tab.

If you have already carried out trades and want to analyse your portfolio PnL, go to the “Analytics” tab.
